A CAN'T MISS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
Since 1972, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra has been bringing the very best of classical music to the city. Comprised of over 80 community musicians and professional section leaders, the MSO is acclaimed as Canada’s best hybrid orchestra, a major point of pride. The MSO is currently in its 11th season under the direction of Maestro Denis Mastromonaco, who has previously conducted for internationally esteemed orchestras and ensembles.
Throughout its more than 50-year history, the MSO has welcomed guest artists from all over the world, from famed sopranos to renowned pianists, to share their love of orchestral music. It has also introduced that love to a wider audience, performing pop culture hits from the Beatles, Star Wars and beyond. Along with these approachable concerts, the orchestra has an extensive repertoire of classical numbers under its belt, from masterworks by Beethoven to beloved operas.
Symphony performances continue to be a hallmark of live theatre to this day, and for good reason. When the intricacy of the individual instrument layers with the harmony of the whole, listeners are transported into a world only an orchestra can create. Whether you’re a first-time guest to the orchestra or a long-time aficionado, the awe-inspiring talent and transcendent energy of a performance by the MSO will leave you mesmerized.
