Kiran Ahluwalia’s soaring voice is the centerpiece of a new style of progressive Indian music. She is one voice from many places. Foremost, she is a songwriter from the great vocal traditions of India and Pakistan. Beyond this, her original compositions embody influences from West Africa, blues, rock, R&B and nuances of jazz. With her 5-piece group of electric guitar, organ/accordion, tabla and drum kit, Ahluwalia creates songs that invite us to explore the human condition, transcending the self by losing ourselves in her sound.
