Narrative Nuance Opening Event

August 17 @ 12:00 pm 4:00 pm

“Narratives are stories we all live with. They inform how we view and understand the world, giving shape and character to real events, imagined realities, and systems of power.” – The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Visual storytelling has always been a function of art; telling rich stories of society, culture, history, and contemporary thought. These stories may be obvious in the arrangement of figures or symbols, or they could be more deeply hidden, awaiting discovery. They can be suggested through mood, palette, media, atmosphere, and iconography. These visual works reflect human history, experiences, and aspirations that can be read across time, language, and culture. Narrative art can also provide a window into the lived experience of an artist or community, it can connect and create conversation around complex ideas, and even shift the way we think. Narrative Nuance is a celebration of this narrative tradition. Please join us for the opening event on Saturday, August 17th, 12-4 pm.
