While the end of summer is in sight, there’s still lots of family-friendly fun happening in Mississauga throughout August and September. Check out 10 of the top free activities to help you plan your Labour Day long weekend or the perfect family staycation and finish your summer with a splash.
Join the Mississauga Library on Wednesday mornings in Celebration Square for an interactive storytime featuring songs, games and books that will help inspire kids of all ages to develop a love of reading.
On select days until September 11, visit the Lake Aquitaine or Lakefront Promenade parks to try your hand at fishing, with a teaching session followed by supervised fishing, guided by experienced anglers. Children under the age of 18 are welcome to attend when accompanied by an adult.
Paralympic Games 2024 Screenings
Celebrate some of Canada’s – and the world’s – most talented athletes alongside fellow fans with free outdoor screenings of the Paralympic Games in Celebration Square from August 28 – September 8.
Take a break from the hot August weather with a free swim in Mississauga’s pools on select dates until August 28.
With 32 parks featuring spray pads, as well as The Fountain and wading pool at Celebration Square, Mississauga has no shortage of spots for free outdoor water fun.
Movie Nights presented by InSauga
Enjoy a popular family-friendly movie under the stars every Thursday until September 5. Upcoming films include Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Trolls Band Together and The Mitchells vs. The Machines. Before the feature film, enjoy a pre-show viewing of animation and documentary shorts created by Sheridan students and alumni.
