Mississauga will join the ranks of major global cities chosen as a canvas for Saype’s temporary outdoor art.
Experience a once-in-a-lifetime art installation from September 25th to October 4th as Visit Mississauga welcomes internationally renowned artist Saype to Ontario for the first time ever. Known for his fleeting outdoor frescoes, he will transform the landscape at Community Common Park, captivating visitors with an unmissable art display.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Saype’s fresco in Mississauga will be an extraordinary and ephemeral creation, located in Community Common Park in the heart of the city’s downtown core. Mississauga is honoured to become the newest location to host Saype’s newest artwork.
Visitors are encouraged to plan their trip early to witness the artwork being brought to life. Though drone photography will immortalize the piece, it will naturally fade within days, making this a fleeting but unforgettable experience.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
In each of his works, Saype captures the fragility of our societies and the challenges we are all called to face, immortalizing on paper the ephemeral nature of the monumental frescoes he creates on grass, earth, sand, and snow across the world. The passage of his frescoes, intended to fade away, aims to impact mindsets while respecting the natural world. They are made with an eco-conscious paint composed primarily of chalk and charcoal.
Saype’s renowned artistic style transforms nature into a breathtaking canvas, using large-scale settings to create stunning outdoor murals. His thought-provoking works, designed to naturally fade away, are crafted with biodegradable paint that he invented himself. Saype has painted on diverse terrains worldwide, from sandy beaches and snow-capped mountains to grassy parks and bustling city streets.
While the artwork is temporary, its impact resonates far beyond its physical presence. Each mural is uniquely designed to spark the imagination, address global challenges, celebrate community diversity, and promote hope and peace, all while honoring the natural environment.
