Lakefront Promenade Park is one of the most picturesque outdoor spaces in the city. The sandy beach borders Lake Ontario, where you can go for a swim or watch the boats come in. Take in the foliage during a walk or leisurely bike ride along the beautiful waterfront trail and head to St. Lawrence Park, with more lovely water views. Make sure to stop at the gazebo lookout for the best photos.

One of Mississauga’s most unique spaces, Kariya Park was thoughtfully designed to balance natural beauty and art. From the pond where ducks swim the day away to the Japanese cherry trees, to the architecture of the pavilion, every spot is completely photographable. You’ll have to see for yourself which view is your favourite.

Alaia Café, perfectly combines style and flavour. The creatively styled pink aesthetic of the space is matched by the look and taste of its coordinating drinks and treats. For a full meal, the nearby Farzi Café is known for its truly creative culinary style, serving up elevated Indian dining. Using gastronomic techniques, the modern meals are as trendy as the ambiance. For a sugary snack, the Chocolate Dirt Pile, while sounding humble, is made with luxury truffle chocolate.

Port Credit’s iconic lighthouse stands tall in the centre the port as a symbol of Mississauga’s marine heritage, providing the perfect spot to find a stellar view while making for a scenic sight in its own right. Head up to the lookout deck for the best vantage point to photograph both the Port Credit River and Lake Ontario.

Try a treat that’s as big as your appetite at Eva’s Original Chimneys. This traditional Hungarian pastry is hand-rolled into a sky-high cone, filled with ice cream and topped with your favourite sauces for a dessert that’s so delightful you’ll want to capture the memory.

Bordering the lakeshore, Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens is a (nearly) secret woodland garden and a labour of love, created by a local horticulturist. While the best blooms are visible from early May to the end of June, there is plenty to love about this spot during the rest of the year, including the massive white pines and the many perennial plants.

Fans of the Cake Boss can’t miss out on a visit to Carlo’s Bakery just a quick walk from the Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens in Port Credit. The classic storefront and interior design are as eye-catching as the rainbow-tiered cake slices the bakery is known for. All of the traditional cakes and pastries, from strawberry shortcake to cannoli, almost look too good to eat (but you won’t be able to resist.)

If you’ve worked up an appetite from all that walking, head to Holy Shakes for a gourmet ice cream treat, served in retro glass milk bottles that you can reuse every visit. These out-of-the-ordinary shakes are topped with even more sugary goodness, including cotton candy or even full slices of cake – so cool you’ll want to show them off on the ‘gram.
