Summer is sizzlin’ in Mississauga, and this month has some of the hottest concerts, festivals and family activities of the season, so get ready to chill out with these cool events! 

Ongoing Events

  • Learn about Black history in Mississauga through the stories of young Caribbean Canadians who shaped a distinctly Canadian culture here in the 1980s at the special exhibition created by a BIPOC Community Curator, Generation X Marks the Spot: Black History in Mississauga at the Bradley Museum.
  • On Sundays from May 26 – October 27, visit the Small Arms Inspection Build for the popular Lakeview Farmers Market to shop from local farmers and artisans while listening to live music.
  • Shop local at Celebration Square with the Lions Farmers Market from June 5 – October 16.
  • Visit Celebration Square for Fresh Air Fitness presented by TD, an inspiring outdoor workout happening in the Square every Wednesday evening from June 5 – September 11.
  • Fit some fitness into your Tuesday mornings all summer long with Outdoor Fitness at Bradley Museum, free classes led by City of Mississauga instructors, on until August 27.
  • Bring your kids for some family-friendly, interactive fun at the Celebration Square Amphitheatre during Open Air Storytime presented by TD, every Wednesday morning until August 28, as Mississauga Public Library staff read, sing songs and lead fun kids activities.
  • Find beautifully crafted home goods, jewellery and one-of-a-kind pieces at the Lakeview Artisan Market, happening at the Small Arms Inspection Building on select Sundays from May 26 – October 27.
  • Visit Celebration Square until August 8 to root for Team Canada and celebrate sport during the Summer Games 2024 Screenings at the city’s outdoor theatre in the Square. Keep the excitement going from August 28 – September 8 for the Paralympic Games 2024 Screenings.
  • Join fellow future anglers for Learn to Fish 2024, a free family event where you can learn everything you need to know to start fishing, happening at various parks throughout Mississauga until August 25.
  • Explore new ways to understand the passage of one space to another, the move from a home to a house, while learning stories of trauma and transformation at the Dreamland exhibition at Bradley Museum, running until September 15.
  • Beat the summer heat with Free Swim Days at indoor and outdoor pools throughout the city, happening on select dates in August.
  • Visit Celebration Square every Wednesday evening in August for Amphitheatre Unplugged and enjoy performances by Mississauga’s talented local musicians, spoken-word artists, dancers and more.
  • Get moving, and feel the summer vibes at Salsa in The Square happening at Streetsville Village Square on select Saturdays in August.

August 1 - 4

  • August 1: Join the Museums of Mississauga and curator Hibah Mian at the Bradley Museum for the Dreamland: Opening Reception event to celebrate the new exhibit, meet the artists and learn about the art of belonging.
  • August 1: Bring your family, chairs, snacks and blankets to Celebration Square for Movie Nights presented by InSauga and enjoy this week’s featured movie, Nimona.
  • August 2: Head to Streetsville Village Square for the monthly summer event First Fridays to discover an evening market filled with handcrafted products, artisanal foods, and unique finds.
  • August 2: Visit the Benares Historic House to enjoy the free music series, On the Verandah Outdoor Music Concerts 2024. This week’s featured performer is Midnight Hour.
  • August 2: Hear country/pop artist Kendra Gabrielle perform at Streetsville Village Square, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 2 – 4: Experience the rich art, culture, heritage and cuisine of South Asian Canadians at Mosaic Festival 2024 at Celebration Square, a free, family-oriented festival featuring artists from Pakistan, India, USA and Canada.
  • August 3: Join fellow cyclists for the Port Credit Community Ride and enjoy an 8 or 16-km route through scenic sights starting at Port Credit Memorial Park.
  • August 4: Have a rocking time and enjoy an incredible lineup of artists at Mississauga’s longest-running, all-ages, free indie music festival, Rock the Coliseum at Celebration Square.
  • August 4: Enjoy performances by 18-year-old Juno-nominated rising R&B singer-songwriter Luna Ella and Canadian-Colombian recording artist, performer and songwriter PRIMO at Port Credit Memorial Park, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.

August 5 - 11

  • August 8: Bring your family, chairs, snacks and blankets to Celebration Square for Movie Nights presented by InSauga and enjoy this week’s featured movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
  • August 9: Visit the Benares Historic House to enjoy the free music series, On the Verandah Outdoor Music Concerts 2024. This week’s featured performer is Subourbon Street.
  • August 9: Hear pop, R&B and soul band Sunday Soul perform at Streetsville Village Square, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 9 – 11: Head to Celebration Square for the 16th-annual Latin Festival to learn how to dance the best Latin rhythms, enjoy delicious traditional dishes, bring your kids to the craft area and experience the best of Latin culture all weekend long.
  • August 10: Join Studio.89 and Daniels Corporation as they celebrate their anniversaries at the Erin Mills Block Party with live music, art activities, games and an artisan market at The Kith Presentation Centre & Studio.89 Café.
  • August 10: Enjoy a multi-instrumental performance by 15-year-old singer/songwriter Vivianne Gharabaghy at Cooksville Four Corners, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 11: Join historian Richard Collin for a Streetsville Historic Walking Tour exploring the fascinating heritage of the neighbourhood, starting at Streetsville Village Square.
  • August 11: Enjoy songs blending pop and rock music by powerhouse vocalist Stephanie Braganza at Port Credit Memorial Park, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.

August 12 - 18

  • August 15: Bring your family, chairs, snacks and blankets to Celebration Square for Movie Nights presented by InSauga and enjoy this week’s featured movie, Wonka.
  • August 16: Visit the Benares Historic House to enjoy the free music series, On the Verandah Outdoor Music Concerts 2024. This week’s featured performer is the Riddim Riders Reggae Band.
  • August 16: Hear award-winning band The Boneheads perform blues-tinged rock ‘n’ roll at Streetsville Village Square, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 16 – 18: Be amazed by the incredible jugglers, musicians, magicians, dancers, acrobats and more, then visit the market and food trucks during Port Credit Buskerfest 2024 at Port Credit Memorial Park.
  • August 17 – 18: Visit Celebration Square to experience the best of Japanese culture, food, and technology at Japan Festival Canada 2024, the largest Japanese cultural event in North America.
  • August 17: Join fellow cyclists for the Sheridan Community Ride and enjoy an 8 or 16-km route through scenic sights starting at Sheridan Park.
  • August 17: Enjoy a performance by talented Canadian-Egyptian musician Natalie G at Cooksville Four Corners, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.

August 19 - 25

  • August 23 – 24: Celebrate Italian music, heritage, and culture at Mississauga Italfest at Celebration Square, featuring live performances, a kids zone, cultural exhibits and culinary delights.
  • August 24: Make and take home a hand-sewn project inspired by artifacts in the Benares Historic House collection during More at the Museums: Vintage Hand Sewing.
  • August 24: Enjoy a performance by R&B singer-songwriter Precious Hernandez at Cooksville Four Corners, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 25: Join Sukoon Space for a unique journey through the vibrant world of South Asian block printing at Bradley Museum’s Woodblock Printing Workshop.
  • August 25: Hear a performance by country artist Alessia Cohle at Port Credit Memorial Park, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 25: Celebrate six local legends at the Legends Row 2024 Induction Ceremony at the Living Arts Centre.

  • August 28: Join historian Richard Collin for a Streetsville Historic Walking Tour exploring the fascinating heritage of the neighbourhood, starting at Streetsville Village Square.
  • August 29: Bring your family, chairs, snacks and blankets to Celebration Square for Movie Nights presented by InSauga and enjoy this week’s featured movie, Trolls Band Together.
  • August 30: Enjoy a performance of jazz, blues, R&B, pop, Latin and classical music by guitarist Mike Freedman at Streetsville Village Square, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 30: Experience a Glimpse into the Heart of a Singer-Songwriter at this unique musical showcase demonstrating the power of lyrics at The Rec Room.
  • August 31: Join fellow cyclists for the Lisgar Community Ride and enjoy an 8 or 16-km route through scenic sights starting at Tobias Mason Park.
  • August 31: Visit Celebration Square for the RED FM Summer Bhangra Jam, a free concert with international Punjabi superstars, Bhangra performances, food trucks, dancing, shopping, Kids Zone, fashion shows, Seniors lounge and much more.
  • August 31: Hear a performance by Simplé featuring diverse musical influences including pop, R&B, jazz, and world music from Asia and South America, happening at Cooksville Four Corners, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by RBC.
  • August 31: be captivated as you experience soul-stirring melodies during Timeless Ghazals with Shoeb Mortoza at the Living Arts Centre.
